About Ostomy Tasmania
Ostomy Tasmania Incorporated is a non-profit organisation, and a registered charity and deductible gift recipient. We are governed by a voluntary Management Committee, many of whom are ostomates themselves. Until 2007, the association was wholly managed and staffed by volunteers. In July 2007, the decision was made by the Management Committee to employ a part-time Administrative Officer, and this has now expanded to three part-time Administration Staff to meet the growing business demands on the organisation.
Ostomy Tasmania is currently managed by the Secretary, who works in a voluntary capacity. We also could not operate successfully without our pool of 10-15 volunteers, who between them work over 400 hours per month. Many of our volunteers are either ostomates themselves, or are the friends or family members of ostomates.
Ostomy Tasmania provides appliances to over 1500 members in Tasmania. This involves ordering and warehousing stock, processing about 1000 member orders per month, and distributing products either by mail or at our office counter in New Town. We issue around 2500 products every month.
We work closely with the Tasmanian Stomal Therapy Nurses. You can find more information about the Stomal Therapy Nurses at www.stomaltherapy.com or click here to link to the names and contact details of the Stomal Therapy Nurse for your region.

Donations assist us to maintain our service to ostomates. Many of our office workers are volunteers, thus helping to keep our costs to a minimum for members, however our expenses continue to rise over time, so any financial assistance - by way of donations - is gratefully received, even if it's only a few dollars. To make a donation click the link, and enter your credit card details via the secure payment gateway (transaction receipt will follow). Remember donations over $2 are tax deductible.
Thank you for your support!
