Membership Information
All new ostomates are issued with a Government Entitlement Number, which is required to access free products under the Stoma Appliance Scheme.
To order products through Ostomy Tasmania, you must be a current financial member: this means you must have paid your Stoma Appliance Scheme (SAS) Access Fee for the current financial year. The universal SAS Access Fee is required to access the Stoma Appliance Scheme across Australia. Current membership fees are listed below. Membership can be cancelled anytime by contacting our office (NB: no refund if you have ordered a product in that financial year).
Membership renewals are due on or before July 1st each year, regardless of the month you originally joined.
Payment and Application
Payment can be made by cash, cheque, money order, credit (or debit) card, or electronic direct deposit to our bank account.
Credit Card payments can now be made online (directly to us) via our secure Payment Page (NB: this is separate from ordering).
Payment can also be posted with your membership form, sent via email, or made by calling our office with your details. We do not retain credit card details once we have processed a payment, so you will need to provide card details each time you make a payment. NB: There is an option to store credit card information via the secure Square payment portal on this website.
Cheques and money orders must be made payable to OSTOMY TASMANIA INC.
If you wish to make a payment using Internet banking by direct deposit to our bank account, use the following details for our account:
BSB: 807009
Account number: 51094661
Account name: Ostomy Tasmania Inc
**Please make sure you include your name (or the name of the client you are making the transaction on behalf of) as the transaction reference so that we can identify your payment.**
New ostomates are usually enrolled with the association by a Stomal Therapy Nurse, who will complete a Government Stoma Appliance Application Form submitted to Medicare. Once you have joined and paid your annual SAS Access Fee you will be sent your Entitlement Card and a membership information pack, and you can begin placing your monthly orders. You can access the Ostomy Tasmania Membership Application form below.
If you transfer from another association and have paid your SAS Access Fee within that financial year, your membership will be transferred. Submit a transfer form here
The Department of Veterans Affairs will pay membership and parcel postage fees for DVA Gold Card holders.
Associate membership is available to medical professionals, family members, and other interested persons.

Donations assist us to maintain our service to ostomates. Many of our office workers are volunteers, thus helping to keep our costs to a minimum for members, however our expenses continue to rise over time, so any financial assistance - by way of donations - is gratefully received, even if it's only a few dollars. To make a donation click the link, and enter your credit card details via the secure payment gateway (transaction receipt will follow). Remember donations over $2 are tax deductible.
Thank you for your support!
