Our Staff and Volunteers

MANAGER AND SECRETARY: Sue Hoyle

Sue has worked as a volunteer for Ostomy Tasmania (previously Ileostomy and Colostomy Association of Tasmania) since 1984. Initially Sue held the position of treasurer and volunteered in the ostomy offices during her lunch breaks while she worked in full-time employment. Since retiring from the paid workforce in 1999, Sue has worked 3 days a week in a voluntary capacity for Ostomy Tasmania, managing the operation of the organisation and overseeing paid staff and volunteers.

TREASURER: Chris Laugher

Chris Laugher has joined the executive committe as Treasurer. Chris is a long term ostomate, and comes back to the volunteer team after a long absence. In 2017 Chris took over the treasurers role from Sue, bringing with him 40 years managerial experience in the banking sector. Chris handles invoice/remittance, banking, payroll, as well as other general administrative tasks as needed.

Volunteers

Our volunteers receive and warehouse stock, pick and pack orders and prepare parcels for distribution by Australia Post. Without their time, freely and cheerfully given, we would be unable to send out approximately 600 individual parcels each month. We are extremely grateful for the contribution they all make. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer and can commit to a regular time period on one or more weekday mornings, we would welcome you to enquire via the contact form link below or by calling Sue (manager) on the number at the bottom of this page. Scroll over the individual photos below to reveal the volunteer’s name (and title, if applicable).
