Support Groups
All Ostomates are invited to attend their nearest support group meetings held regularly around the state. These meetings are especially recommended for new ostomates, providing valuable support and information. Adrian Kok is the volunteer state coordinator for Ostomates Support Groups based in Launceston, Ulverstone, and Hobart – covering the North, North-West and Southern regions. Adrian states… “Living with a Stoma can have its own challenges no matter how long you have had it. Meeting other people with similar problems and talking to people who understand in a private setting makes a big difference to many people.”The meeting days are held regularly (usually March, June, September and December), and are normally around 2hrs in duration. These meetings can often have Stomal Therapy Nurses and/or company representatives in attendance to discuss the most up to date advice on new products and the latest medical developments.
Please RSVP to Adrian Kok on 0498196059 or email [email protected] or [email protected]
